5. Attach the drain hose to the sewer inlet underneath the sink. This could either be a sink trap or garbage disposal, depending on your installation. Secure the hose in place with a compression clamp.

6. Move the dishwasher adjacent to the undercabinet space. Remove all packing materials. Remove the bottom front plate, located just underneath the door. This will allow you access for wiring and plumbing.

7. Hook the free end of the drain hose to the drain outlet at the back of the dishwasher. Secure with a compression clamp.

8. Install the dishwasher beneath the counter. Adjust the legs to ensure that it is level.

9. Connect the new circuit wire to the terminals on the dishwasher--black to black, white to white and bare copper wire to the ground terminal. Secure with wire nuts and electrical tape.

8. Squeeze a thin layer of glue on the ends of the remaining dividers. Drop them into the dadoes, clamp and allow to dry.

9. Lay the glued-up flatware divider on a sheet of plywood to mark the size of the back. Cut out the back, glue to the dividers, clamp and let dry.

10. Lay the completed flatware dividers into the flatware drawer and return the flatware and kitchen equipment to the compartments.

Instructions

1. Blot the urine with a dry paper towel if the stain is fresh. Soak up as much urine as you can with the paper towels. Do not rub it into the fabric.

2. Pour an equal amount of white vinegar and warm water into a spray bottle. Gently shake the bottle to mix the ingredients.

3. Spray the urine stain with the vinegar and water mixture. The stain should be saturated with the solution. Vinegar will neutralize the scent of the urine.

4. Blot the stain with dry paper towels until the stain is nearly dry.

5. Mix 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide with 1 tsp. liquid dish soap in a bowl.

6. Sprinkle a handful of baking soda onto the urine stain.

If it is necessary to stop the cycle, such as to add a dish, do not press the appliance's "Cancel/Stop" button. Instead, simply open the dishwasher door, wait briefly for the water to pause and then place the dish inside the dishwasher. Close the door afterward, and press "Start/Resume" to allow the cycle to resume and finish.

Drain Hose Obstruction

Household Drains

Clogs or waste backups in a home's drain system also can affect the dishwasher's performance because most drain systems are interconnected in a home. If the KitchenAid dishwasher does not drain well, then run the kitchen sink's garbage disposer. If an air gap is on the sink, lift off the top and clean out the hoses with a toothpick. If the problem remains after the kitchen drains are cleared, then another drain in the home may have a blockages in drains throughout the house. 1)Use 1 gallon white vinegar, 1 cup of table salt and 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap mixed in a watering can. Stir the mix well and sprinkle on the unwanted weeds. They are dead by the next morning and the best part is that it won't hurt my dogs!

2)Use 1 gallon of vinegar with 1 oz. of liquid dish detergent.

3)Mix equal amounts of both Dawn Dish detergent and Pine Sol into a spray bottle attached to your garden hose.

3. The soap works to break down the waxy surface on the leaves, allowing the vinegar to work more efficiently. It also helps the solution to stick to the leaves, giving the vinegar time to kill the weed.

Fill a spray bottle or watering can with the either solution 1 or 2 and spray weeds thoroughly. The solution will kill any plant it comes in contact with. Small weeds will shrivel and die within 24 hours. Repeat application if regrowth occurs from the roots.

Using a spray bottle that attaches to your water hose fill it with solution 3. This mixture takes care of fleas, beetles, and destroys ant hills. It also makes your grass greener and is safe on your flowers and plants.

Pour the solution 1 and 2 directly on the roots of large weeds that have extensive root systems. Plants like burdock may take a day or two to die off. Once the root withers and becomes soft, pull the root from the soil.

4. For weeds growing out of cracks in driveways and sidewalks, some people pour salt or vinegar directly on the weeds. Still others add a few drops of liquid dish soap to the recipe to help the solution stick to the weeds. Other organic methods of weed control include hand-pulling, boiling water or torching.

Make Homemade Soap

This soap is a pleasure to give - and to receive.

Instructions

Soap Making 101

1. Dissolve 12 oz. lye in 32 oz. softened water in a plastic or glass bowl. If at all possible, do this outside or under an exhaust fan.

2. Add the lye to the water, not vice versa. Pour the lye slowly and in a steady stream, and stir constantly with a plastic spoon.

3. Set the mixture aside to cool. The mixture will heat up considerably due to the lye reacting with fats in the oils. This is called saponification.

4. Melt 24 oz. coconut oil and 38 oz. solid vegetable shortening in a stainless steel pot.

5. Add 25 oz. olive oil (not virgin) and any fragrance oils you want to use.

6. Allow the oils to cool.

7. Grease the soap mold with Crisco.

8. When both the oil and lye mixtures have cooled to room temperature, slowly combine them, adding the lye to the oils.

9. Stir slowly and constantly. If you see bubbles, stir more slowly.

10. Drizzle the soap into the pot once in a while. When it keeps its shape momentarily before sinking into the rest of the mix (tracing), it's time to add whatever extras you want.

11. Stir your botanicals, grains and coloring into a cup of soap taken from the mix.

12. Combine that back into the original mixture.

13. Pour the soap into the mold.

14. Wrap the mold in a towel and leave it undisturbed for 18 hours. The soap mixture will heat up and then cool down. Avoid uncovering it until it's cooled.

15. Allow the soap to sit in the uncovered mold for another 12 hours.

16. Loosen the sides by wiggling the mold a little.

17.Turn the mold over onto a clean counter.

18. Cut the soap into bars with a knife. Some people use a miter box to make square corners.

19. Allow the bars to cure for three to four weeks before using. Smaller bars cure faster than larger ones.

Additives

20. Mix candle coloring into the oil solution. If it's wax-based, melt it first in a couple of tablespoons of oil and then add it to the rest of the oil mix.

21. Realize that you can also use crayons for coloring. Experiment with colors. Note that purples are very difficult to keep true.

22. Use 1 tsp. per pound of soap of the following ingredients: cocoa powder for brown, cayenne pepper for pink-peach, liquid chlorophyll for light green, turmeric for yellow, paprika for peach and titanium dioxide for white.

23. Use 1 oz. essential oil to scent a 4-lb. batch of soap.

24. Know that 2 tsp. ground cloves makes a great-smelling soap. Try grated orange or lemon peel or ginger, too.

25. Use rose water instead of regular water for rose soap.

Oatmeal makes a great complexion soap. Use 8 oz.

Add 4 oz. cornmeal for a gritty texture.

Make soap with 1/2 oz. geranium oil for dry skin.

Use tea tree oil - 1/2 oz. - for problem skin.

7. Place the attached drainage garden hose into the kitchen sink drain. Tie the drainage hose to the water inlet hose if possible to minimize hazards. Tie the draining end of the drainage hose to the garden hose (inlet water) to keep the drainage hose in place so it doesn't spill water by slipping out of the kitchen sink.

8. Screw the female end of the hot water hose onto the other side of the Y-splitter. Wrap plumber's tape around the male end of the hot water hose and screw it into the hot water inlet connection of the washing machine.

9. Open the valves on the Y-splitter. Turn on cold and/or hot water from the kitchen sink. Run the washing machine on a short cycle once without clothes to test connections and function.

4. Juicers that keep pulp in the basket tend to yield more juice. A motor of 450 watts is recommended for a juicer. A less powerful motor will burn out and not work as effectively. Look for a juicer that has replacement parts available and some sort of warranty for at least one year. The hydraulic press juicer is the most expensive but if you are an avid juicer may be worth the investment. You can use all fruits and vegetable in this model even parsley and wheat grass. It costs more than $2,000.

Hosts also handle an array of other duties, including wiping down tables, organizing silverware and napkins and running the cash register when a customer is ready to pay the bill.

Busboys/Dishwashers

Busboys clean off tables, removing used plates, glasses and silverware, usually after a customer has left. They then transport the items, usually via cart, back to the kitchen, where dishwashers clean them and get them ready for use again. Many restaurants have appliances to assist with this process, eliminating the need for busboys and workers whose lone job is to wash dishes altogether--as cleaning tables often be handled by servers or hosts.

Expeditors

An expeditor acts as the liaison between the servers and cooks. Expeditors double-check orders by reading what a server writes down is what is actually delivered. They look at how the order is prepared and check that the chef followed any special instructions, such as preparing a steak well-done. Expeditors will send food back to the kitchen if it's not prepared properly.

Managers

Restaurant managers oversee all aspects of an establishment, making sure everyone is doing their job and everything is running smoothly. They also must know perform each task, lending a helping hand when things get overly busy. Managers keep a close eye on a restaurant's finances and make sure that all supplies are readily available.

Prospects

Job in the food service industry are expected to grow by 10 percent through 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That's about as fast as average for all occupations.
