Resolve white film on plastic with vinegar.
Dishwashers work perfectly when you want to quickly clean dishes with practically no work required on your part, but sometimes the dishes aren't cleaned to your liking. A common problem is white residue that is left behind on your plastic dishes after the wash cycle completes. This is caused by a combination of detergent residue and hard water film. Adding an additional cleaning element to the wash resolves this problem.
Instructions
1. Place the plastic dishes in your dishwasher.
2. Pour dishwasher detergent into your detergent cup.
3. Pour 2 cups white vinegar into the bottom of your dishwasher. Run a regular wash cycle and the vinegar will remove and prevent white residue.
4. Dry the plastic items with a dish towel when the wash cycle is completed. Letting the plastic air dry is often the cause of the white residue, so drying with a towel collects any excess moisture that was left behind.
