In "The Sims," players take control of a virtual character called a Sim, build him a house and play through the span of his life. Just like in real life, you have to keep your Sim's house clean or else it will attract bugs such as flies and roaches. Bugs are a nuisance in "The Sims" and cause the comfort rating of the room to drop drastically. However, much like in real life, the best way to get rid of the bugs is to clean up your act.
Instructions
1. Click on dirty dishes to have your Sim wash them in the sink or dishwasher. You must have an open sink or dishwasher to clean the dishes. Dishes left out for eight hours will attract flies, but cleaning the dishes will make the flies disappear.
2. Click on rotting garbage and old pizza boxes that have attracted flies to throw them away. Disposing of old garbage will immediately get rid of the flies swarming around it.
3. Click on cockroaches to have your Sim spray them with bug poison. You cannot queue this action; it must be the only action you have for your Sim to take. If there are other cockroaches on your home lot, the Sim will seek them all out with the bug spray until you select another command.
4. Clean your house daily to avoid attracting cockroaches. Dirty dishes, clogged toilets, puddles on the floor and even unmade beds can make roaches appear.
5. Hire a maid to keep your house clean. The maid will clean up any dishes or trash that have attracted flies and occasionally spray cockroaches. You must have enough money to pay for maid services every day.
