Remove Grease And Soap Scum From A Dishwasher

Clean soap scum out of the dishwasher with dish soap.

Dishwashers require cleaning on occasion when grease and soap scum build up on the interior surface. Through regular use of the unit, these elements wash off dishes and can end up sticking to the dishwasher. This leaves you in need of a cleaning routine that removes all the buildup without damaging the dishwasher. Avoid chemicals that could get onto dishes and be ingested. Use mild cleaning agents that work well.

Instructions

1. Fill your sink with soapy water. Add 1 cup of white vinegar per quart of water.

2. Dip a nylon scrubbing pad into your cleaning solution, and scrub the interior of the dishwasher.

3. Use an old toothbrush to scrub the dishwasher tracks, around wheels, and any hard-to-reach crevices.

4. Pour 1 quart of white vinegar into the bottom of your dishwasher. Run a short wash cycle.

5. Clean the dishwasher every few months or as needed when you notice buildup.
