Dishwashers can be covered with panels so they blend in with the cabinets.
The Kenmore Elite 13206 is one of the few styles of dishwasher that has a magnetic panel kit available to install on the unit. Magnetic panel kits allow the appliance owner to cover the dishwasher with a white, black, wood, or stainless steel cover to protect the appliance from damage, and dress it up to match the rest of the appliances in the room. Panel installation is a relatively simple task to complete, requiring minimal tools.
Instructions
1. Scrub clean the front surface of the dishwasher using de-greaser and a rag. Remove any dirt or residue from the surface.
2. Remove the bottle strip from the dishwasher door using a screwdriver. The screws are located on the bottom of the door.
3. Place the magnetic panel on the front of the dishwasher, lining up the bottom edge of the panel with the bottom edge of the door.
4. Pry the front of the top panel from the front of the dishwasher by inserting the metal putty knife under the front edge and lifting outward slightly towards you. This will temporarily lift the panel up front the front surface to allow you to tuck the panel underneath. The panel will then fall back into place once the putty knife is removed, and will sit snugly over the panel when finished.
5. Slide the magnetic panel under the corner of the top panel. Continue to pry across the length of the dishwasher and insert the magnetic panel underneath as you go.
6. Re-attach the bottom panel to the dishwasher using the screwdriver.
