Troubleshoot A Bosch Power Box With A Power Button That Doesn'T Work

A Bosch Power Box has the features of a typical radio, letting you listen to your favorite radio stations while you are working outside. However, it also has a digital clock, four separate speakers and a control panel that allows you to easily control your radio-listening experience. The power button, or the power in general, may stop working during usage of the box, and troubleshooting the device lets you get back to work, with the radio playing, in no time.

Instructions

12-V Outlet Fuse

1. Check your 12-volt DC outlet fuse; your unit's power button may stop working due to a damaged or blown fuse.

2. Unscrew the fuse cap in a counterclockwise fashion by hand. Remove the blown fuse.

3. Put in the 5-by-20-mm, fast-acting, 1-amp fuse by hand. Screw the fuse cap back on in a clockwise fashion. Check the box's functionality by turning on the unit with the control panel's power button and listening to the radio.

Power Outlet

4. Check your power outlet setup; your power button may not be switching on properly due to an improper or malfunctioning power supply.

5. Plug the AC power cord into one of the four ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) outlets, located on the unit's right side. Wait for the GFCI power indicator button to glow red.

6. Press the "TEST" button and hold the button down until the indicator's red light goes away.

7. Press the "RESET" button below the "TEST" button, and hold it until the indicator light glows red once again to complete the GFCI test.

Overall Power

8. Look at the LCD display screen; your unit may not be receiving power, even if the display's indicator light says otherwise.

9. Remove the unit's battery on the unit's back side by pressing down the battery door's release latch. Remove the battery pack from the unit.

10. Unplug the AC power cord from the unit and its power source

11. Wait for 30 seconds after both the battery pack and power cord have been removed from the unit. Plug the cord back into the unit and replace the battery pack in its battery door after 30 seconds have passed.

12. Turn the unit on with its power button and try to listen to the radio after performing this unit reset.
