Dishwashers can be noisy machines, which is why KitchenAid dishwashers come with a noise barrier called a sound pad. It can be important to know install the sound pad if you are installing your KitchenAid dishwasher for the first time, or if the sound pad needs to be replaced for any reason. Installing the sound pad is also typically one of the last steps of the full installation of the dishwasher.
Instructions
1. Remove the bottom sound pad by sliding it out from the inside of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher is new, the sound pad may be wrapped in plastic. Remove the plastic.
2. Place the pad on the floor and make sure that the lettering is facing up. The pad portion should be facing down.
3. Fold the panels on each side and hold them down by pressing down on them with your hands.
4. Slide the pad back into the bottom of the dishwasher and slide the pad in as far as it will go towards the back.
5. Fold up the front portion of the pad, and tuck it into the bottom of the dishwasher door.
