Mdh Recommendations On Clean An Ice Machine

Ice and beverage dispensers require regular cleaning to optimize performance.

Servend produces the MDH series of ice-dispenser beverage machines. The range consists of the MDH-302 and two versions of the MDH-402. The units have 12, 16 or 20 beverage lines with two ice dispensers on each model serving crushed or cubed ice. The ice storage capacity is 300 lbs. for the MDH-302 and 400 lbs. for the MDH-402. The MDH-series recommendations for cleaning an ice-dispenser beverage machine include daily and monthly procedures to maintain the hygiene and operational standard necessary for optimal performance.

Instructions

Daily Cleaning Recommendations

1. Unplug the machine's power cable from the electrical socket. Switch off the key switch on the side.

2. Remove the drain pan grid and wash the grid in a sink filled with warm water and mild soap. Wipe the splash panel and drain pan with a cloth soaked with mild soap and warm water.

3. Rinse the splash panel and drain pan with warm water. Rinse the drain pan grid with warm water. Replace the grid onto the clean drain pan.

4. Wipe the exterior surfaces with a warm, damp cloth. Dry the surface with a clean cloth.

5. Twist the nozzles and diffusers on the dispensing valves counterclockwise and pull down to remove the items for cleaning. Use a soft brush and warm soapy water to remove all traces of syrup, dirt or beverage stains from the diffusers and nozzles. Rinse the nozzles and diffusers under warm running water to remove soap residue.

6. Wash the dispensing valves, wiping each valve with a cloth soaked in mild soap and warm water. Rinse each valve with a warm water-dampened cloth. Fit the nozzles and diffusers back onto the valves, switch the key switch back on and reconnect the power cable.

Monthly Cleaning Recommendations

7. Unplug the machine's power cable from the electrical socket. Empty the ice from the ice bin. Fill a sink with warm water and mild detergent.

8. Remove the component parts of the ice bin. Simply unscrew the knurled fasteners. Clean the paddle wheel, wheel pin, ice chute, agitator, rear bushings, motor shaft and strip lids using a soft brush and the detergent solution. Wash off any soap residue from the component parts with running water.

9. Wash the inside of the ice bin and lid with the detergent solution and a sponge. Rinse the ice bin and lid under running water to remove detergent residue. Apply a sanitizing solution to the ice bin and cold plate containing 5.25-percent sodium hypochlorite and less than 100 parts per million of chlorine, according to the sanitizing solution manufacturer's instructions.

10. Fasten the ice bin's component parts back into position once the sanitizing solution evaporates from the ice bin and cold plate. Replenish the ice bin with new ice and secure the lid. Reconnect the machine's power cable plug into an electrical socket.
