Is a Rubbermaid Microwave Safe?
Rubbermaid is a brand of food storage container made out of durable, shatterproof Tritan plastic. Some plastics are known to be unsafe for microwave use, as they can melt in the heat and possibly contaminate the food. Fortunately, Rubbermaid brand containers are not among this group of products. Rubbermaid Is Safe
All Rubbermaid containers are safe and have been approved for microwave use to reheat food. When reheating, remove the lid to avoid dangerous steam buildup.
Rubbermaid Don'ts
Though Rubbermaid is safe for microwave reheating, it is not recommended for cooking, and Rubbermaid containers are not safe for use in a conventional oven.
Other Precautions
Rubbermaid is safe for freezer use, dishwasher use and nesting within each other.
No Latex in Rubbermaid
There is no natural rubber latex in any Rubbermaid containers, with the exception of Rubbermaid's rubber gloves. All the containers are made from synthetic rubber.
Are Rubbermaid Products Flammable?
Rubbermaid products are flammable, which is why they should not be put in the oven. Rubbermaid containers can melt in temperatures between 260 and 320 degrees Fahrenheit, and can burst into flames at 600 degrees.
