A whirlpool is similar to a hot tub or spa that you can have in your home. It typically has jets that can be turned on to create streams within the water. These streams can help make your whirlpool tub more relaxing and enjoyable. If you a have a whirlpool tub installed outdoors, however, you might not be planning on using it all winter long. In this case, you should take the time to winterize it to make sure the tub is protected during the cold months.
Instructions
1. Turn off the heater for your whirlpool tub. Disconnect all components of your whirlpool tub from any power sources, and turn off the breaker panel that's connected to your whirlpool tub.
2. Open the drain valve on your whirlpool spa to drain the water. Use a spa vac to remove additional water and make the draining process faster.
3. Run the air blower for about 10 to 15 seconds to remove any water stuck inside.
4. Remove and clean the filter by soaking it in filter cleaning solution, which you can purchase at a pool supply store. Make sure the filter is rinsed and dry before storing it.
5. Use a spa cleaner from your local pool supply store to scrub out the inside of your whirlpool tub. Use a non-abrasive scrub brush to clean. Rinse and dry thoroughly with terry towels.
6. Cover the whirlpool tub with the winter vinyl cover, and secure it by locking the straps in place on the sides.
