Viking Range Cleaning

Viking Range Cleaning

Viking offers professional-quality ranges and cooking appliances for home use. These durable ranges are designed to withstand wear and everyday use. Food spills and grease splatters usually occur while cooking and can dull the appearance of your Viking range. Whether your Viking range has sealed or unsealed burners, or has a flat or gas cooktop, cleanup and maintenance only requires a few basic household items. Clean your Viking range often to prevent tough messes and keep it looking its best.

Instructions

1. Turn off the range and allow it to cool.

2. Fill a sink with hot water and 2 tsp. dish detergent.

3. Remove any knobs, grates, burner caps and the drip pan under the griddle and set them aside. Place the drip pan into the sink to soak.

4. Dip a microfiber cloth into the soapy water and wring it out. Wipe the surface of the gas range with the cloth to remove any food spills. Clean the control panel, grill grate, griddle, burner bowls and grate supports. Rinse the cloth in the sink as you clean to remove residue.

5. Clean the area under the sealed burner caps with a light layer of non-abrasive cleansing powder and a damp microfiber cloth. Wipe the aluminum with medium pressure to remove stains.

6. Rinse the cloth with clean water and wipe the range, griddle, grill grate, control panel, burner bowls and grate supports to remove any soap residue. Wipe under the burner caps to remove the cleanser residue.

7. Dry the range with a hand towel.

8. Clean a ceramic flat top range with ceramic cooktop cleaning cream. Apply three or four drops of cleaning cream to the cooktop. Wipe the cooktop with a damp paper towel.

9. Remove tough stains from the ceramic cooktop with a scraper. Hold the scraper at a 30-degree angle. Apply more cleaner and wipe it with a damp paper towel. Dry the cooktop with a clean paper towel.

10. Wash the grates, knobs and burner caps thoroughly with a microfiber cloth and soapy water. Don't soak them in the sink. Wash the drip pan. Use a scrubbing pad to remove tough stains.

11. Rinse the drip pan, knobs, burner caps and grates thoroughly with clean water.

12. Dry the drip pan, burner caps, grates and knobs completely with a hand towel. Make sure the bottom of the grates and burner caps are completely dry so they don't rust.

13. Replace the knobs, grates, burner caps and drip pan onto the range.
