Emeril stainless steel cookware, created of course by chef Emeril Lagasse, is fine stainless steel with glass lids. Stainless steel is typically easy to clean-Emeril stainless steel cookware is no exception. In fact, Emeril stainless steel cookware is dishwasher safe. However, it is also easy to hand wash the cookware and doing so will save space in your dishwasher for other items.
Instructions
1. Fill your kitchen sink with hot water and immerse the cookware, one piece at a time.
Mix a fine (soft) powdered cleanser with water in a cup to form a thin paste. You may use baking soda and water, instead of a commercial cleaner.
2. Rub the paste onto the stainless steel cookware with a soft cloth, using gentle circular motions from the center outward, as suggested by Emerilware.com. Add 1 tbsp. of mild dish detergent to the water.
3. Wash the cookware out with a soft sponge. Rinse it in hot water and dry it immediately with a soft towel to avoid water spots.
4. Wash glass lids with dish detergent and warm water (you can do this before or after cleaning the stainless steel pieces). As with any glass item, allow the glass to cool (if it is hot) or warm up (if it has been refrigerated) before washing--sudden temperature changes can cause glass to crack. Rinse the lids and dry them with a soft towel.
5. Use a commercial copper cleaner on the copper bands, if applicable, as suggested by Emerilware.com. You won't have to do this every time you wash the cookware-just when the copper starts to tarnish.
