Ge Profile Dishwashwer Troubleshooting

GE Profile dishwashers are Energy Star--rated and offer a five-stage filtration system, a steam prewash, deep-clean cycle, more wash jets, a middle wash arm, preset detergent dispensing, nylon-coated racks, heated dry and a wide variety of wash and dry cycles. The dishwashers can be purchased online and in many appliance, home retail or department stores. Even though the Profile dishwashers come with a limited warranty to help users who need repair assistance, many problems can be fixed through some basic troubleshooting.

Instructions

1. Connect the power cord on the GE Profile dishwasher if nothing on the appliance operates. Reset or replace the circuit breaker or fuse as necessary. Shut the dishwasher door firmly before programming the dishwasher.

2. Press "Start/Reset" again if the button was accidentally pressed during a wash cycle. This will reset the dishwasher. Select a wash cycle and press "Start/Reset" once to begin.

3. Close the dishwasher door if the unit is beeping every 30 seconds. This indicates that the door was opened during operation, stopping the wash cycle. Do not press "Start/Reset," as this will only end the cycle.

4. Press "Heated Dry" five times quickly to turn off the "end of cycle" beep if you do not wish the dishwasher to beep when the wash and dry cycle is completed.

5. Reduce simultaneous use of other appliances that need hot water if the dishes are not clean enough after washing. Fill the dishwasher detergent dispenser, and avoid overfilling the dishwasher. Flush the garbage disposal if applicable.

6. Add rinse aid to the dishwasher if there is spotting on dishes. Use detergent that is fresh, and make sure you use the recommended amount.

7. Remove excess suds from the dishwasher by letting the soap evaporate and then closing the door. Press "Start/Reset" once and then again 30 seconds later to pump the leftover soap out of the unit.

8. Use a turkey baster to remove excess water from the "Smart Dispense" dispenser if there is water in the dispenser. Refill with detergent, and tighten the cap firmly.

9. Clean the interior of the tub if there are stains or odor, using ½ cup of bleach and 3 cups of warm water. Scrub the tub clean with a sponge or cloth. Run a rinse cycle to remove any bleach residue.
