Get Rid Of Foggy Glasses With Homemade Dishwasher Soap

Washing dishes in a dishwasher can lead to foggy glasses.

When first purchased, drinking glasses are shiny and can easily be seen through. However, after washing the glasses in a dishwasher, after time, many turn foggy in appearance. This can be due to hard water. With a few simple steps, the foggy appearance or film can be removed using homemade dishwashing detergent. This process may need to be repeated a few times throughout the year if your glasses are regularly exposed to hard water.

Instructions

1. Place equal parts washing soda and borax into a food processor.

2. Use the lowest setting to mix the ingredients and turn the mixture into a powder. For use in a dishwasher, use 1 to 2 tablespoons per load.

3. Mix one part detergent and two parts hot water in a large bowl. Be sure the detergent dissolves in the water. Place the foggy glass in the water. Allow it to sit for at least an hour. Remove the glass and wipe it dry with a clean towel. Repeat the process if the glass is still foggy.
