Compare Ge & Kitchenaid

Consider several options before purchasing a kitchen product.

General Electric and KitchenAid are two of the most popular companies for kitchen products such as dishwashers, mixers and grills. GE manufactures many other types of products, while KitchenAid primarily focuses on home kitchen items. Both companies are reputable, with a long history of making high-quality products. Making an informed choice about a product is one way to ensure that you get not only the functions you want but also a high-quality item that can last for years.

Instructions

1. Examine the functions offered by the appliance you're purchasing. While two refrigerators may look similar, one may offer more than 23 cubic feet of storage, depending on the model. A similarly priced model from the other brand could offer only 19 cubic feet of storage.

2. Determine the capacity of both items. Look closely at their configuration to determine what is best for your kitchen. If there's more room for plates in one dishwasher, and most of your dishes seem to be plates, that may be the dishwasher for you. A dishwasher from the other brand may have a higher clearance for the bottom rack, so serious bakers would prefer that for their cookie sheets.

3. Decide what finish fits into your kitchen best. If you have a silver kitchen and company offers a silver oven, you may want to select that over a similar oven in white from the other company.

4. Look at the warranties. See which one offers a longer service plan. Be sure you understand exactly what kind of damage or flaws the service plan covers.

5. Compare the prices. If you've looked at all the other factors and still can't decide between KitchenAid and GE, then let the price be your deciding factor.
