Hook A Garden Hose To A Faucet

Faucet with quick connect attachment

Outdoor faucets, also called silcocks or hose bibbs, provide convenient places to hook up a garden hose. This allows you the freedom to run the hose wherever you want it. This is useful in watering applications, such as lawn sprinklers or drip irrigation. Hooking up a garden hose to a faucet is a fairly simple operation. There are additional fittings you can connect to your faucet to allow you to do even more with your faucet and garden hose.

Instructions

1. Ensure that the faucet where you want to connect the hose is turned off. Rotate the handle clockwise to turn off the water.

2. Locate the metal coupling on the end of the hose. The hose that will be connected to the faucet has a freely spinning coupling at one end.

3. Thread the coupling onto the end of the faucet spout. Turn counterclockwise to tighten the coupling.

4. Connect a sprayer, sprinkler or any other attachment that requires water to the end of the hose.

5. Turn the water on by turning the handle counterclockwise.
