Clean scale from the piping of your Whirlpool tub with dishwasher detergent.
A Whirlpool tub adds a spa-like experience to your bathroom, but this type of tub is built with a little more complexity that your average bathtub. The Whirlpool tub has spa jets that filter water through the piping of the unit, and often sediment and scale end up settling to the surface of your pipes. To get rid of the scale, use an effective cleaner that breaks up the scale without requiring you to disassemble the tub.
Instructions
1. Plug the Whirlpool tub and fill it with hot water, submerging all jet line openings under the water.
2. Pour 1/4 cup dishwasher detergent and 1/2 cup bleach into the Whirlpool tub.
3. Turn the jets on at high speed, and let them run for 15 minutes.
4. Drain your Whirlpool tub, plug it again and fill the tub with plain hot water this time.
5. Run your tub jets for another 15 minutes, and drain the water. This gives a final rinse to the tub piping and flushes out any leftover residue.
