Remove Sealed Burners On A Magic Chef Range

Magic Chef ranges are available with either metal coil burners or a sealed glass panel stove-top. The elements in a smooth glass-top stove are located below the glass-top panel, hidden from view. This allows for a smooth cooking and work surface and is more aesthetically pleasing than metal coil burners. If one of the elements fails, you must remove the element and then install a new one to resume using the stove.

Instructions

1. Unplug the range from the wall outlet.

2. Open the oven door, then remove the screws from the underside of the front of the glass-top panel.

3. Lift the glass-top panel up and then secure it in an elevated position using a sturdy object. Alternatively, have a partner hold the top up so that you can remove the burners.

4. Remove the screws securing the burner and burner brackets to the underside of the glass-top panel, then remove the burner.

5. Pull the wire connectors off of the terminals on the burner and then set the burner aside.
