KN filters can improve your fuel economy. They are easily cleanable with the KN Recharger Filter Care Service Kit. You can clean your KN filter without much hassle by following these simple instructions.
Instructions
1. Fully saturate your KN filter with the air filter cleaner. This comes in either a pump or an aerosol formula. Spray both the clean side of the filter and the dirty side of the filter until the pleated material is completely covered with the solution.
2. Allow the air filter cleaner to penetrate the dirty filter for a full ten minutes.
3. Rinse your filter with a hose by spraying the water on the clean side of the filter. Continue spraying until all of the debris is removed from the filter.
4. If there are any spots left on the filter that need to be treated you can respray and allow to soak for ten minutes then rinse again.
5. Allow the filter to air dry for the next 24 hours.
6. With the dirty side of the filter facing towards you begin to oil the filter using KN air filter oil. Apply the air filter oil working up and down the crowns of the pleats. Turn the filter over and inspect it for any area you might have missed.
7. Reinstall the KN filter in your car.
