Install A Kenmore Quiet Guard Dishwasher

Wash dishes faster with a Kenmore Quiet Guard dishwasher.

If you want the convenience of an automatic dishwasher without the noise, install a Kenmore Quiet Guard dishwasher. Make sure, of course, that your kitchen cabinet can accommodate a built-in dishwasher. If your home does not have the plumbing connections and electrical wiring pre-installed, call a professional contractor to prepare the cabinet for you.

Instructions

1. Turn off the breaker switch for the kitchen. Make sure the electrical current is completely off by testing the kitchen cabinet wiring with a volt meter. Turn off the water to the dishwasher by closing the shut-off valve located under the sink.

2. Set a thick blanket or a scrap piece of wood down on the floor in front of where you will be installing the dishwasher. This will keep the floor from getting scratched when you slide the dishwasher into the cabinet. Unpack the dishwasher and remove the owner's manual and dish racks from the inside of the unit. Ask someone to help you move the dishwasher onto the blanket or scrap wood.

3. Connect the water supply and drain hoses to the dishwasher unit. Use the adjustable feet on the bottom to set the height of the dishwasher unit. Check the dishwasher with a level. Adjust the feet as needed until the dishwasher unit is level. Slide the dishwasher into the kitchen cabinet. Attach the dishwasher unit to the bottom of the cabinet with the mounting screws included in the hardware package.

4. Attach the black wires from the home to the black wires of the dishwasher power supply. Attach the home's white wires to the dishwasher's white wires and loop the green ground wire around the dishwasher's ground screw.

5. Attach the open ends of the drain and water supply hoses to the fittings under the sink. Turn the water shut-off valve back to the open position. Turn the breaker switch for the kitchen back on and run the dishwasher through a full cycle to test it for leaks.
