Stainless steel is expensive but it is one of the few metals that is resistant to rust. But if the door of the stainless steel dishwasher is dented or damaged, the protective coating may be compromised and then rust can form. Cleaning the dishwasher at the first sign of rust prevents it from spreading. But you have to be gentle when cleaning stainless steel because it is easily scratched.
Instructions
1. Scrub off the rust using a fine steel wool pad. Scrub in the direction of the grain of the stainless steel.
2. Apply white vinegar to the rust on the dishwasher using a sponge. Leave the vinegar on the stainless steel for 30 minutes to one hour. Vinegar has ascetic acid, which helps to remove rust.
3. Scrub the rust again with fine steel wool. Follow the direction of the grain when scrubbing.
4. Wet a sponge and wipe away the rust and the vinegar on the dishwasher..
5. Dry the dishwasher door with a clean cloth.
