Troubleshoot A Jetclean Dishwasher

The Maytag JetClean dishwasher offers a steam clean option, stainless steel tub, high pressure spray jets, food chopper, adjustable racks, quiet motor and a 10-year limited warranty. The dishwasher is sold in many stores, including department and appliance stores, as well as online. While standard care, maintenance and cleaning should help keep the dishwasher working well, minor problems may occasionally occur. If this happens, homeowners may wish to try some troubleshooting efforts before calling Maytag for additional help.

Instructions

1. Plug the JetClean dishwasher into a working power outlet if the dishwasher does not run. Push the door shut until it clicks into place and make a wash cycle selection. Press "Start" to begin the wash and dry cycle.

2. Clean the detergent dispenser with a dry cloth and use fresh detergent if there is residue in the dispenser or on the bottom of the dishwasher. Do not stop the dishwasher during the cycle and make sure the cycle is in operation by pressing "Start" after choosing a wash cycle.

3. Turn on the hot water at the nearest sink and run it until the water consistently runs hot before starting the dishwasher if the cycle seems to run for a long time.

4. Pour rinse aid into the rinse aid compartment if items don't seem dry enough even after the dry cycle. Do not overload the dishwasher and keep a space between each dish for better air movement.

5. Pull the water float free on the bottom of the tub if the dishwasher is not filling properly with water. The float looks like a small plastic dome, and it can get stuck on the bottom. Straighten out the water hoses and use only the recommended amount of detergent to prevent leaking or over-sudsing.

6. Pour 2 cups of vinegar into a glass measuring cup and place it in the lower dishwasher rack if there is an odor in the dishwasher. Leave the detergent dispenser empty and run a normal wash cycle with heated dry. Remove the glass measuring cup when the cycle is done.

7. Rinse excess debris off dishes before putting them in the dishwasher if dishes are still dirty after washing. Do not overload the dishwasher, and run hot water at the sink before starting the dishwasher.
