Model CGS1230ADH from Magic Chef is a slide-in gas range and oven. This means it is made to be part of a cabinet assembly to give it a built-in appearance. It slides into an open space between cabinets, so the range sits in the middle of the counters. Burner igniters are similar on most gas ranges, including this model from Magic Chef.
Instructions
1. Unplug the cord for the oven from the wall outlet. Press it back into the electrical socket in case it is loose. Wiggle the plug around to ensure it is sitting snug. The igniter requires electricity to work. Determine whether that fixes the problem.
2. Open the circuit breaker panel and find the switch for the outlet where the oven is plugged. If the breaker is tripped, the switch will be off. Press the breaker back to the "On" position.
3. Wipe the inside ring of the burner where the flame lights to clear any debris that might be blocking the igniter and burner ports. Dry off the ring with a towel.
4. Turn the switch for the burner to the "Off" position. Push it over to "On" and listen for a clicking noise. The clicking indicates the igniter is functioning. If there no sound, put the switch back to "Off" and call for service.
