Troubleshoot The Frigidaire Gallery Series

Troubleshoot the Frigidaire Gallery Series

The Frigidaire Gallery series includes refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and washing machines. These items are designed to operate efficiently and speed up processes such as boiling, preheating, drying, and cooking. The Gallery line of appliances generally come with a limited warranty and can be purchased online or in select home retail, appliance or department stores. If issues occur with the appliances, it may be desirable to troubleshoot the problem prior to contacting Frigidaire for professional assistance.

Instructions

Refrigerators

1. Move the power switch on the ice maker to the "I" position if the refrigerator does not produce ice but the refrigerator has power. Check the ice dispenser for clogged ice cubes and ensure the water supply is turned on to the refrigerator.

2. Replace the water filter in the refrigerator if the water tastes bad or the ice production is low. Replacement filters are available from Frigidaire.

3. Wipe the refrigerator door seals with a clean, damp cloth if the doors won't close. Ensure the refrigerator is set on a solid floor and ensure all drawers and shelves are pushed in completely.

4. Change the "Fresh Food" control to a warmer setting if the items are too cold or frost develops on the food exterior. Turn it to a colder setting if items are too warm. Avoid opening the doors too many times to help keep the temperature level inside the unit.

5. Move the humidity control to a lower setting if water develops inside the vegetable or fruit drawers.

Ranges

6. Ensure the oven racks are centered in the oven if food results are uneven. Ensure the legs are set on a level surface and the range is installed on a solid floor surface.

7. Turn off the oven and unplug if the oven light goes out and does not work. Take the cover off the light and remove the light bulb. Use the old light bulb as a guide to purchase a new one and screw the new bulb into the socket. Replace the cover before returning power to the unit.

8. Select a new surface unit temperature if food cooks too fast or too slow. Use flat-bottomed cookware for the best cooking results and center the cookware over the surface burner.

9. Push "Cancel" if an "E" error with a number appears on the display. Disconnect the power, wait a few minutes and then return power to the appliance.

10. Push "Cancel" if an "F" error and a number appears on the display and select a new oven function. If the error code returns, write down the fault code and contact Frigidaire.

Dishwashers

11. Press "Air Dry" and hold for eight seconds if nothing on the display panel will operate. This releases the child lock feature.

12. Clean the filter if the dishwasher is not draining well or food items remain in the tub after the wash cycle. Turn off and unplug the dishwasher, open the bottom rack and pull out the bottom spray arm. Pull out the filter and remove the fine filter from the housing. Rinse with cold water and restore in the filter housing. Set in the dishwasher and replace the spray arm.

13. Run hot water before starting the dishwasher and make sure the temperature is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit if dishes are dirty even after you have cleaned the filter. Add sufficient detergent to the dispenser and prevent items from blocking the movement of the spray arms.

14. Use only fresh detergent if items are spotted or cloudy and fill the rinse aid dispenser. Check the home water pressure with a water pressure gauge. The water pressure should be at least 120 pounds per square inch (psi).

15. Clean the drain hose and run the garbage disposer if there is water left in the tub. Run a second drain cycle to remove excess water from the dishwasher.

Washers

16. Check buttons, buckles, metal fasteners and other metal items if there is a rattling noise during washer use. Remove loose objects, like coins or keys, from pockets.

17.Move the washer to a solid, level floor if there is a vibrating noise. Tighten the lock nuts on the legs and verify the legs touch the floor evenly.

18. Turn on the water faucets and straighten out the hoses if the washer isn't filling with water appropriately. Clean the inlet hose screens and turn off other appliances using water at the same time.

19. Increase the total load size if the washer isn't spinning. Close the detergent dispenser drawer and ensure the lid is shut firmly. Press "Start" to initiate the cycle.

20. Clean the drain hose and straighten the hose if water isn't draining properly. The drain standpipe should be at least 23.6 inches high for proper drainage.
