Troubleshoot A Bosch She58c Dishwasher

Solving problems you are experiencing with your Bosch dishwasher may not be as difficult as you think.

Your Bosch SHE58C dishwasher has likely made life easier since you bought it. No more standing at the sink up to your elbows in soapy water after every meal. Instead, you just load all the dishes into the "magic cupboard" that has appeared in your kitchen, set it when it's full and your china, pots and cutlery emerge sparkling clean. Do not despair if your Bosch dishwasher is not functioning as it should. The problem may be more easily corrected than you think.

Instructions

The Dishwasher Will Not Start

1. Check the door is fully closed. The dishwasher will not operate if it is not fully sealed.

2. Check you have switched the machine on.

3. Ensure the machine's connection to the electrical supply is fully operational. If the plug is loose in the socket, pull it out and place it back in, making sure it is fully inserted.

4. Check the fuse board in your home. If the fuse that controls the dishwasher has blown replace it. If your home has a breaker box, check the switches to ensure none have been tripped.

The Dishes Are Not Clean

5. Check you are using the correct amount of detergent by reading the manufacturer's instructions on the box.

6. Ensure the dishwasher racks are not overloaded and utensils being washed are correctly arranged so they do not block the dishwasher spray arms.

7. Examine the dishwasher spray arms. If they need cleaned, the amount of detergent and water traveling round the dishes will be reduced, leading to poor performance.

8. Check the dishwasher filters are fully in position. These are made up of a large object trap/cylinder filter assembly and a fine filter. The filter system is located on the inside of your dishwasher under the lower rack and is easily accessible. If it is positioned correctly it should feel secure when touched. During normal use, the filter system is self-cleaning. You should occasionally inspect it for foreign objects and clean it when necessary.

9. Choose a program suitable for the level of soiling on your dishes when switching the machine on.

Dishes Are Not Dry at the End of the Cycle

10. Ensure rinse aid is present in the rinse aid dispenser, which is located on the inside of the dishwasher door beside the detergent dispenser. If you need to add rinse aid, a snowflake symbol will appear on your dishwasher's countdown display. To add rinse aid, pour it on to the arrow on the rinse aid dispenser's dial. Wipe up any overflow that occurs once the dispenser is full.

11. Ensure enough rinse aid is being dispensed. If necessary, increase the amount being used during each wash cycle. This is done by turning the rinse aid dial to the right, which moves the arrow on the dial through settings one to eight. Setting one dispenses the least amount of rinse aid and setting eight dispenses the most.

12. Open the door of the dishwasher at the end of each wash and move the upper basket forward by 3 or 4 inches, then prop the door back against it. This will help dry the dishes.
