A cooktop is the top part of a kitchen stove. Kitchen stoves have evolved since their gas and charcoal beginnings and today the most advanced option is the induction cooker. This kind of a cooker uses electromagnetic induction to heat up metal parts, and some of the different kinds include grills, microwave ovens and hot plate cookers. Hot plate cooktops are convenient for small places and are also portable and easily installed.
Instructions
1. Turn off the cooktop by turning the knob on its front side and setting it to zero. If your cooktop has more than one burner, check the others too.
2. Unplug the whole cooker by pulling the electric cord out of the outlet. This will not only ensure the cooker will not heat up again, but will also eliminate the risk of being shocked, especially if you want to clean the device with a damp cloth or wet hands.
3. Check if the hotplate is cool enough and safe enough to touch. Place your finger near the hotplate to see if you can feel any heat. Then quickly and lightly touch the hotplate with a wet finger.
4. Lift the heating coil at the top slightly with your hands, making sure to access the hinge under it.
5. Release the top coil from the cooktop by detaching the hinge underneath it.
6. Remove the heating coil from the cooktop completely and set it aside.
