Nonstick pans make cooking and clean up a breeze, but store them properly.
Nonstick cookware is a popular choice for many cooks. The nonstick surface allows for easy cleanup and less overall time spent in the kitchen. Proper care of nonstick cookware is essential to maintaining its quality. In addition to proper cleansing techniques, it is important that nonstick cookware is properly stored, to prevent the coating from getting scratched. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
Using Cloth
1. Place the largest piece of nonstick cookware on the bottom of the cabinet.
2. Lay a soft piece of cloth over the cookware. Use thick paper towels or paper plates if you do not have cloth towels.
3. Place the next largest piece of cookware on top of the cloth. Continue to add layers, alternating between cloth and cookware.
Using Food Tub Lids
4. Wash the saved lids from large food tubs such as margarine or whipping cream.
5. Place the largest piece of nonstick cookware on the bottom of the cabinet. Place one of the tub lids on top of the cookware.
6. Place the next largest piece of cookware on top of the pan with the tub lid. Continue to create layers, alternating between the lids and the cookware.
Using Bubble Wrap
7. Cut bubble wrap into 12-inch squares.
8. Place the largest piece of nonstick cookware on the bottom of the cabinet. Place a piece of bubble wrap face down on top of the cookware.
9. Place the next largest piece of cookware on top of the pan with the bubble wrap. Continue to create layers, alternating between the bubble wrap and the cookware.
Using Styrofoam Trays
10. Clean Styrofoam meat trays with soap and hot water. Allow them to soak in hot soapy water for 10 minutes. Rinse the trays in warm water and dry completely.
11. Place the largest piece of nonstick cookware on the bottom of the cabinet. Place a Styrofoam tray over the cookware.
12. Add another piece of cookware on top of the Styrofoam. Continue alternating between Styrofoam and cookware.
