A dishwasher is effective for sanitizing beer bottles for home brewing.
Brewing beer can be a fun and rewarding project that could prove to be an enjoyable lifetime hobby. An important part of the brewing process is cleaning the beer bottles before using them to bottle the libation. A dishwasher can be extremely useful in sanitizing not only the outside of the bottles but also some of the equipment used in the brewing process. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. Place clean beer bottles in the dishwasher upside down so the open end is facing downward.
2. Fill the dishwasher soap compartment with the normal amount of dishwashing soap. This step is optional and if you do not want to use dishwashing soap, it is not necessary.
3. Close the dishwasher and adjust the settings to "heat dry" and to the longest cleaning cycle.
4. Turn the dishwasher on. When the cycle is completed, open the dishwasher door and allow any remaining moisture to evaporate before using the beer bottles.
