Troubleshoot A Haier

Haier makes all kinds of domestic appliances and electronics.

Haier is a Chinese appliance company that makes a range of dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators and other household electronics. Troubleshooting problems with your Haier appliance involves making sure the appliance is configured correctly and that it has everything necessary to perform its duty. Problems usually occur when the power supply is interrupted or the appliance cannot access water or gas, if necessary. Solving minor technical issues at home saves you money by preventing unnecessary repair call-outs.

Instructions

1. Ensure the appliance is switched on via the power button on the control panel, and confirm you have pressed the "Start" button to activate the appliance. It's easy to forget the simple things while troubleshooting your Haier appliance. It's better to cover them now than remember later.

2. Follow the power cord to the appliance's electrical outlet. Push the plug until all three prongs are fully inserted. A loose connection causes intermittent power issues. Disconnect any extension cords or multi-plug adapters and connect the power cable directly into the outlet. Some extension cords are unable to handle the voltage required by the appliance.

3. Make sure all your home's circuit breakers and fuses are still working. An electrical fault or power surge in the appliance's circuit will trip the breaker or fuse, disconnecting the power supply. Reset the breaker or swap out the fuse for a suitable replacement. You will notice other appliances or electronics on the same circuit stop working when a breaker or fuse trips.

4. Confirm the appliance is able to access the resources it needs to perform its duty. Check the water supply and drainage hoses for kinks and ensure the water and gas shut-off valves are open. The water or gas supply is usually turned off when the appliance is serviced or moved to a new location.

5. Confirm the appliance is in a suitable location. Extremely hot or cold temperatures may affect the performance of the appliance. Unheated garages, utility rooms or basements are sometimes too cold for dryers during the winter months, for example. Air should be able to circulate around the appliance if it is fitted with air vents.

6. Cancel the child lock if it is currently protecting your Haier appliance. Hold the "Stop/Reset" pad for a few seconds and try starting your appliance again. The child lock prevents the appliance activating if children are playing with the controls. The exact button you need to hold may vary depending on your Hair appliance.
