Get Soap Scum Out Of Dishwashers

Vinegar also helps to deodorize surfaces and materials.

A dishwasher is an extremely useful appliance in terms of saving time and reducing work related to washing dishes. However, many dishwashers accumulate soap scum over time. This soap scum usually appears as a white, scaly film. The cause for this is due to a reaction between minerals such as magnesium and calcium in the water and the soap that you add to the dishwasher. You can remove soap scum from your dishwasher through an easy cleaning process that involves gentle, inexpensive cleaning products.

Instructions

1. Fill a clean, empty spray bottle 2/3 full of hot water. Fill the spray bottle the rest of the way with white vinegar. Shake the bottle a few times to mix the contents once you reattach the spray nozzle.

2. Spray the areas affected by soap scum.

3. Allow the vinegar solution to soak in for about 15 minutes.

4. Pour enough white vinegar onto a cleaning sponge to wet it thoroughly. Then sprinkle a dusting of baking soda onto the sponge as well.

5. Use the sponge to wipe off the soap scum in the dish washer. You should be able to remove the residue easily.
