To clean your Nike tennis shoes, you need a bucket large enough to submerge them.
With repeated use, any shoe will soil over time. For athletic footwear, like Nike tennis shoes, repeated exercise use can soil them quickly. If you dislike a soiled appearance, you can clean your tennis shoes. Nike warns against the use of automated cleaning in washing machines or dishwashers, so keeping them clean requires a little manual labor.
Instructions
1. Obtain a large enough bucket to submerge both shoes completely in water.
2. Add up to 2 tbsp. of a mild soap into the bucket, then fill the bucket with cold water. Do not use warm water, as it can cause color bleeding. A mild laundry detergent works best, but basic dish soap can be used also.
3. Submerge the shoes and work off any clumps of dirt or rock that may be attached with your hand or rag.
4. Dip your rag in the water, then pull out one of the shoes and gently scrub it with the rag. Ignore the bottom of the shoe and focus your efforts on the top and sides of the shoe.
5. Set the first shoe to the side and repeat Step 4 with the other shoe.
6. Rinse both shoes thoroughly with clean water to remove remaining dirt and purge soap residue.
7. Loosen or remove laces to open the shoes as much as possible, then set them out to air dry in an open area. Outside is fine, but keep them shaded from the rain or direct sunlight. Drying time varies, but expect them to take no less than 24 hours to completely dry out.
