The Kenmore Elite dishwasher offers a control panel that allows users to make cycle selections, add wash or dry options, and monitor the progress of the cycle. This includes a "Clean" light that illuminates when the wash cycle is complete, the tub has cooled down and the dishes may be removed from the unit. If the "Clean" light is blinking, however, this may require some troubleshooting.
Instructions
1. Identify the overfill protection float in the base of the dishwasher, which looks like a small plastic traffic cone. Push it down lightly to make sure it can slide up and down easily.
2. Find the water valve that connects to the dishwasher and make sure the water to the unit is fully turned on and is open.
3. Add 1 gallon of cold water and shut the dishwasher door if the bottom of the tub is filled with suds or foam. Choose the "Drain" cycle selection and press "Start" to drain out the remaining water and suds. Note that it is important to use automatic dishwasher detergent only and follow product recommendations for the amount to be used.
4. Close the detergent dispenser lid and the rinse aid dispenser lids firmly.
5. Press "Stop/Cancel" and then make a new selection. The "Clean" light should no longer be blinking.
