The Kenmore Elite Pak is a washing machine and dryer set that offers options such as a large capacity drum, automatic water level, variable speed motor, quiet operation, time and moisture sensors, specific fabric settings and automatic balancing system. The washer and dryer unit may be bought online or in many appliance, department or home retail stores and should function well with typical maintenance and care. If problems do arise with the washer or dryer, troubleshooting the issue may help find a resolution.
Instructions
Washing Machine
1. Ensure the electrical cord is firmly plugged into the Kenmore washing machine and a grounded three-prong outlet if the machine is not starting. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker, if needed. Make sure the washer door is closed completely and "Start" is pressed once a wash selection has been made.
2. Clean the drain hose if the washer will not drain water out of the tub. Place a towel under the drain hose and disconnect from the washer before cleaning out the inlet screen inside the hose. Change the position of the drain hose if the hose end is set more than 96 inches above the ground.
3. Place a towel under the water hoses in the rear of the washer if the washer will not fill with water. Turn off the water valves and disconnect the hoses. Clean out the water inlets at the valve connection and the inlet screens inside the hoses. Reconnect the hoses to the washer and turn the water back on.
4. Balance out the load if the washer is having difficulty agitating or draining or is vibrating a lot during use. When the load size is too large, the washer will experience reduced efficiency. Insert a 3/4-inch piece of plywood under the washing machine if the floor seems too weak to support the washing machine, and make sure the washer feet all touch the floor.
5. Use the proper amount of high efficiency (HE) laundry detergent if there is leaking, oversudsing or residue on items after the wash is complete. Run an extra rinse/drain cycle to clean items and drain extra suds from the washing machine.
6. Select "Pause/Cancel" twice to cancel if "FH" appears on the display. Verify that the water valves are turned on and the water hoses are straight.
7. Select "Pause/Cancel" twice to cancel if "F02" appears on the display. Straighten the drain hose and clean any obstructions.
8. Select "Pause/Cancel" twice if an error code with "F" and another number variable appears on the display. Press "Drain & Spin." If the error code continues, contact Kenmore.
Dryer
9. Verify that the Kenmore Elite dryer is firmly plugged in to a working power supply if the dryer will not start. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker, if needed. Close the dryer door firmly and press "Start" once a dry cycle is chosen.
10. Remove lint from the screen inside the dryer door if the dryer seems to dry for a long time. Clean the exhaust hood outside the house. Keep the overall load size moderate.
11. Take items out of pockets before drying if there is lint on items or objects are loose in the drum, creating noise or scratching the dryer interior.
12. Close snaps, zippers and hooks before drying items if there are rips or holes in items after drying. Loose metal objects can create damage during the tumbling process.
13. Rebalance the load if the dryer is shaking during use. If the load is too large, the items can get bunched together and create thumping.
