Oster's mini food processor can chop veggies like tomatoes and peppers.
Oster's mini food processor is a compact version of its standard 11-cup processor. Called the "3 Cup Chopper," the unit comes with a stainless steel chopping blade, plastic bowl, whisk attachment and a 150-watt motor. Although this mini version doesn't have a large capacity or a feed tube, it can handle most small dicing, slicing and chopping jobs. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. Pre-wash the blade, whisk attachment and plastic bowl in hot, soapy water or run them through the dishwasher; the bowl and both attachments are dishwasher safe.
2. Slip the bowl over the center spindle and click it into place. Slide the blade over the center spindle.
3. Fill the bowl with the food you want to chop. For best results, these pieces should be about a half-inch in size. Small fruits like grapes or blueberries are fine as they are; however, you may have to do a little pre-chopping to get veggies like onions and tomatoes into small, usable pieces. If the pieces are too big, the blade won't be able to slice through them cleanly.
4. Put on the lid. Make sure it twists and lock closed.
5. Plug the unit in.
6. Press the "high" or "low" speed button, as desired. Keep the button held down until you want the blade to stop.
7. Unplug the machine.
8. Remove the lid and lift bowl off the center spindle.
9. Pour or scrape the food into a serving dish, pan or other receptacle. Remember that the blade is resting at the bottom of the bowl. Don't reach in with your fingers; always use a utensil like a spatula or scraper to remove food from the bowl.
