Unless you're a trust baby, you've probably had the experience of washing a dish or two. Although the experience is cathartic for some, most of us would rather skip that portion of the eating experience. If your dishwasher is in need of repair, you can always call a professional or make an appointment with a Maytag service specialist, but you can try some things first that might save a few dollars.
Instructions
1. Close the door completely. The washer will not run correctly if the door is ajar. Models with a dual digit display will show "- -" during a cycle if the door is not properly closed. Check for spoons or other utensils that may be interfering with the door operation.
2. Check the power source. Check the electrical box to see if the fuse or circuit breaker is tripped. If it is, you will need to reset or replace the fuse associated with kitchen appliances.
3. Check the power plug. The plug should be plugged in completely to a three-pronged outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
4. Align the cycle selection to the position of the timer knob. Turn the knob to the beginning of the cycle preferred until you hear a click.
5. Unlock controls. Press and hold the Heater Dry option for at least three seconds. The light should turn off automatically. You can find detailed instructions on the inner door if you have an older model.
6. Press "Start/Cancel" twice to deactivate the delay start option. If the delay start option is activated, the dishwasher will not start.
