Dishes not drying properly can be fixed with simple troubleshooting.
Kenmore dishwashers come in many model types, and the 1625 is a built-in unit. When your dishwasher begins to malfunction you will need to troubleshoot to fix or correct the problem. Problems that can occur with your Kenmore dishwasher include dishes not getting adequately dry or the unit failing to start or run completely. You can troubleshoot a Kenmore 1625 by first determining what type of problem is occurring.
Instructions
Dishes Not Drying
1. Verify that you have selected the "Heat Dry" option on the control panel.
2. Open the door and check to see that the rinse aid dispenser has been filled. Fill the rinse aid dispenser if it is empty, or increase the amount if it is not full.
3. Check the temperature of the incoming water. Run your tap water on hot and then check the water temperature with a thermometer. The temperature of the water should be at least 120 degrees.
4. Examine the cups in the top rack and see if water has collected on the bottom. Glasses with a rounded bottom will collect water, which can spill on other dishes.
Failing to Start
5. Open the door to your home's circuit panel and see if a breaker has tripped or a fuse has blown. Reset the breaker or replace a blown fuse and run the dishwasher again.
6. Verify that the water supply for the dishwasher or the shut-off valve has been opened. If the unit has been installed for the first time, this may have been missed.
7. Open and close the door to make sure that is securely closed and latched. The unit will not start if the door is not completely closed.
8. Check the control panel and see if the "Delay Start" option has been selected.
