Check Sensors On A Bosch Shu43c Circulation Pump

The Bosch SHU43C is a dishwasher with features such as a noise-reduction system, condensation-drying program, triple filtration and a water condition sensor system that monitors the current water condition and refills the tub with water if necessary. In order to access the sensors for troubleshooting, it's necessary to disassemble the Bosch dishwasher to reach the circulation pump. The dishwasher should always be disconnected from power prior to any service or repair.

Instructions

1. Turn off the water valve, and disconnect the water and drain hoses from the dishwasher. Pull the dishwasher out from under the counter, if applicable.

2. Open the Bosch dishwasher door, and remove the three screws on each side of the dishwasher interior.

3. Remove the dishwasher door by lifting the door until the tabs that hold the door are visible on the bottom of the door. Wiggle the door while pulling up on it until the tabs release and the door can be moved clear of the housing. Lift the dishwasher door out, and set it on the floor. You may want to set it on a towel or blanket to protect the door. The door is heavy, so you may need assistance with this step.

4. Undo the two plastic door guards, one on each side near the bottom of the dishwasher, if the door guards do not fall out when the door is lifted off. Unscrew the two screws on the bottom of the toe kick and tilt the toe kick out to remove the toe kick panel.

5. Find the two screws along the right side of the dishwasher along the trim. Slide the trim up and out to remove it, and lift the right side panel off the dishwasher.

6. Take out one of the screws from the rear right corner that connects the dishwasher tank to the base. Remove the right toe kick bracket screw on the front right corner. Slide the right hinge cover off, and gently pull the right door tension cord out of the hinge. Disconnect the ground wire at the connection.

7. Lift the dishwasher tank, and slide a piece of wood between the tank and the dishwasher base.

8. Locate the circulation pump on the lower right side of the Bosch dishwasher interior. The sensor looks like a photo cell that is installed on top of the circulation pump. The sensor can be removed and replaced, or it can be cleaned using a clean cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol.
