Keep the Danby cooler temperature between 36 and 40 degrees for a proper beer temperature.
The Danby DKC645BLS is a portable keg cooler that can be converted to a miniature refrigerator for other entertainment uses. It includes an electronic thermostat, stainless steel door, scratch-resistant work top, drip tray and chrome guard. If the keg cooler is not cooling as expected, some troubleshooting might be effective in helping owners return the cooler to the right temperature.
Initial Installation
When the Danby cooler is first plugged in, the temperature in the cabinet will be automatically set to 41 degrees Fahrenheit. While some may regard this temperature as adequate, it may not be cold enough for other users and temperature adjustment might be deemed necessary. According to Danby, the optimum temperature for beer is between 36 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
Temperature Adjustment
The temperature inside the Danby cooler can be adjusted using the control panel on the front of the unit. Press the up or down arrow once to enter the "Set" mode to change the temperature. Press the down arrow to decrease the temperature, which can be set between 36 and 46 degrees Fahrenheit. Release the arrow buttons and keep the door closed for several hours while the temperature adjusts.
Power Supply
If the temperature has been set between 36 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit and the door kept closed and the unit does not seem cool enough, check the power cord and make sure it is firmly connected to a live electrical outlet. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker as necessary.
Shelf Life
It is important to know that draught beer should be kept in the refrigerated cabinet with the door shut as much as possible to retain a cold temperature. Draught beer products will last only between 30 and 60 days in a refrigerated unit, and this life may be shortened by warm internal temperatures, frequent door openings or poor keg pressurization.
