Clean Out Clogged Spray Arms On A Dishwasher

Clogged spray jets can reduce dishwasher effectiveness.

One of the primary reasons for poor dishwasher performance is clogged spray jets on the wash arms. This can occur when residue from hard water, high mineral content or food debris builds up over time on the spray arms. If the dishwasher does not seem to be cleaning well or there is low water pressure exiting the spray jets, the jets and spray arms may need to be cleaned out.

Instructions

1. Wipe the spray jets on each spray arm with a clean, damp cloth.

2. Dampen a new cloth with vinegar and carefully clean each jet to remove any mineral scale or hard water residue from the jets.

3. Clean out any clogged jets with a toothpick, but use caution not to damage the jet.

4. Clean the spray arm nozzle with a clean cloth and remove any debris that may be stuck in the nozzle with a toothpick.

5. Rotate each spray arm manually to make sure it can rotate freely.
