Tappan Appliance Company Information
Tappan produces household appliances for all your needs in the kitchen and on a smaller scale for your RV wishes. Tappan produces space-saving appliances with recognition of their value and reliability, which is backed by more than 100 years of experience in home appliances.
History
In 1881, the first cast iron stoves were marketed in Bellaire, Ohio, under the name of Ohio Valley Company, which eventually changed to Tappan. These stoves were dispensed from a horse and wagon to the consumer and often the barter system was used for payment. Tappan is a division of Electrolux Home products and many products carry the well known Electrolux name. The Tappan and Electrolux names carry the recognition of their innovative technology in producing the premier versions of appliances. Some of these include the first oven door with glass for a see through feature and the first rounded corners on a stove. Tappan also manufactured the first porcelain stove.
Ranges
Electric and gas ranges are marketed under the Tappan name. The gas ranges have sealed burners and an electronic ignition to light the burners. A one-piece top is available in the gas freestanding ranges for superior ease of cleaning. The electric ranges have ceramic glass cook tops and warming drawers available on many models. Both types of ranges offer convection cooking to enable you to cut your cooking time in half while saving electricity.
Dishwashers
Several models of dishwashers are available in the Tappan line. Most are for household use but with the need arising to manufacture a smaller version to fit in an RV, Tappan stepped forward to create smaller convenient models. Tappan created the Space Saver line of appliances to fit these needs. This dishwasher is half of the size of a standard dishwasher, and has the cleaning ability and performance of a full size version. The precise circulation of water and detergent has excellent cleaning ability and it operates quietly.
Microwaves
Microwave ovens in the Tappan line can be obtained at any authorized dealer and are available with advanced features. There are many sizes to choose from as well as colors and black or white. The higher-end microwaves include convection cooking for efficiency and electricity savings. RV sizes are also available in the Tappan microwaves.
Refrigerators
Several models of refrigerators and freezers can be chosen in the Tappan or Electrolux brand. You can choose a freezer on top of refrigerator model or a side-by-side model with a water and ice dispenser in the door. There are also chest freezers ranging in size from small to extra large for all your needs. All the refrigerators and freezers have an A+ energy rating and are all frost-free models.
