Clean Burnt Stuff Off Of Viking Burners

Regular cleaning keeps Viking burners stain-free.

Viking gas ranges are used by professional chefs and those who enjoy cooking at home. The variety of self-cleaning ovens, sealed burner and open burner ranges, along with the variety of colors and surface materials allow the consumer to select a range that fits their cooking and aesthetic needs. Spills and dribbles that occur as you cook on the stove top can result in burnt stains stuck to the burners. Removing these stains is important to the cleanliness and maintenance of your Viking range and also prevents smoke in the kitchen as burned-on stuff burns more each time you use the stove.

Instructions

1. Sponges safely clean appliances without scratching.

Wipe off the burners with a damp sponge, as soon as they've cooled after cooking. Add a drop or two of dishwashing detergent to the damp sponge to clean off loosened food particles.

2. Wet a steel wool dishwashing pad and squeeze it to remove excess water. Apply a few drops of soft cleanser to the steel wool pad and scrub the burned-on food with the mild abrasive. Rinse the burners by wiping the cleanser off with a damp sponge.

3. Tackle burned food still stuck on the burners by treating the stains with oven cleaner. Bring the burners outside where fresh air circulation helps you avoid breathing the oven cleaner fumes.

4. Rubber gloves keep hands protected from chemicals found in cleaning products.

Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands from the chemicals in the oven cleaner. Cover the ground with old newspaper and lay the burners on top of the paper. Spray the burners with oven cleaner to coat them heavily. Leave the oven cleaner on the burners for up to two hours.

5. Rinse the burners off with water to wash away the oven cleaner and loosened food stains. Wash the burners with dishwashing detergent and a sponge. Dry with a clean cloth.

6. Pour a quarter-sized amount of vegetable oil onto a clean cloth. Rub the oil into the burners to season them. Allow the oil to soak into the burners for 15 minutes then wipe off any excess and place the burners back on the stove top.
