Get Rid Of Foam In The Dishwasher

Never use any other kind of detergent other than automatic dishwasher detergent to prevent excess foaming.

Excess foam can develop in a dishwasher for various reasons, including using liquid hand-washing detergent, spilled rinse aid detergent, problems with water draining from the dishwasher or too much or the wrong type of detergent. Once there are too many suds in the dishwasher, it is imperative to clean the foam out to prevent further drainage or residue problems. Removing the foam is possible with some water and a little time.

Instructions

1. Open the dishwasher door and keep it open for several hours to let the suds reduce and evaporate. An open dishwasher can be a safety hazard for children and pets, so monitor access to the dishwasher while the door is open.

2. Add 1 gallon of clean, cold water to the dishwasher tub.

3. Shut the dishwasher door firmly.

4. Press or select "Drain" to start the dishwasher, followed by "Start." On some dishwashers with an electronic control panel, "Start/Reset" should be pressed twice rapidly to start the drain process. Wait for the drain cycle to complete and then check inside the tub.

5. Repeat the drain process until the suds are gone.
