Each Amana appliance contains a model number and a serial number. The model number identifies the specific series or group the appliance is part of. Similar appliances, including Amana refrigerators and stoves as well as other appliances, have a similar model number. The appliance's serial number is a unique number that is not similar to like-model appliances. When ordering parts and requesting service for your Amana appliance, you need the appliance's model number as well as the type of appliance you have--stove, refrigerator or other Amana appliance.
Instructions
Amana Refrigerator
1. Open your Amana refrigerator's door.
2. Locate the label on the inside wall of the refrigerator with the wording "Amana" printed in the upper portion of the label.
3. Use a flashlight if necessary. The refrigerator's model number is printed next to the wording "Model."
4. Write down the model number on a piece of paper.
Amana Ranges and Ovens
5. Open your Amana freestanding range's storage drawer.
6. Locate the label on the frame of your range with the wording "Amana" printed in the upper portion of the label.
7. Use a flashlight if necessary. The freestanding range's model number is printed next to the wording "Model."
Locate the model number on an Amana single built-in oven: Shine a flashlight on the left side of the front frame at the bottom of the oven. The model number is printed next to the wording "Model."
Locate the model number on an Amana double built-in oven: Open the lower oven's door and shine the flashlight the lower oven's frame. The model number is printed on the label next to the wording "Model."
8. Write down the model number on a piece of paper.
Amana Cooktop and Hood/Vent
9. Remove the burner grates from your Amana cooktop. Put the grates to the side.
10. Raise your Amana's cooktop.
11. Shine a flashlight around the bottom of the stove's burners and locate the cooktop's label containing the wording "Amana." The model number is printed next to the wording "Model."
Locate the model number on an Amana hood/vent, shine the flashlight underneath the hood/vent and locate the label containing the wording "Amana." The model number is printed next to the wording "Model."
12. Write down the model number on a piece of paper. Lower the cooktop and place the burner grates on the burners.
Amana Microwave Oven and Dishwasher
13. Open your Amana microwave oven's door. Locate the label containing the wording "Amana" on the front frame surrounding the microwave. The model number is printed next to the wording "Model."
14. Locate the model number on an Amana dishwasher: Open the dishwasher's door, shine a flashlight around the upper left-hand corner of the dishwasher's frame and locate the "Amana" label. The model number is printed next to the wording "Model."
15. Write the number down.
Amana Washer
16. Open your Amana top-load washer's lid or front-load washer's door.
17.Shine a flashlight to the back, top portion of your top-loading washer. On a front-loading washer, shine the flashlight on the outer edge of the washer's door.
18. Locate the "Amana" label. The model number is printed next to the wording "Model."
19. Write down the model number on a piece of paper.
Amana Dryers
20. Open your Amana top-load or front-load dryer's door.
21. Shine a flashlight on the upper recessed area of the front panel of your top-load dryer's door. For front-load dryers, shine a flashlight on the shroud on the dryer's door.
22. Locate the "Amana" label. The model number is printed next to the wording "Model."
23. Write down the model number on a piece of paper.
