If problems arise with the dishwasher, such as if it will not drain, you may wish to execute some troubleshooting steps to aid in identifying the source of the problem and a possible resolution as well.
Instructions
1. Verify that the Maytag dishwasher has completed washing and is not simply paused between cycles.
2. Turn off and unplug the Maytag dishwasher.
3. Examine the connection between the dishwasher and the garbage disposal, if the two are connected. Ensure that the knock-out has been taken out of the disposer inlet to allow for the water to drain from the dishwasher.
4. Elevate the drain hose 32 inches or more off the floor to ensure the water does not backflow into the dishwasher.
5. Straighten the drain hose and clear away any possible obstructions.
6. Restore power. Contact a Maytag service technician if these steps do not help fix the problem.
