Remove the clip pieces connected to the lower spray arm in your Hotpoint dishwasher.
When you are running a cleaning cycle with your Hotpoint dishwasher, the lower spray arm dispenses water that sprays the dishes in the top and bottom racks. If the spray arms is not spinning during a cleaning cycle, it may have broken clip pieces. The clip pieces are what keep the lower spray arm in position. The clip pieces can be replaced once the spray arm is removed from the dishwasher.
Instructions
1. Turn off the electrical power to your Hotpoint dishwasher from your kitchen circuit breaker.
2. Open the dishwasher door and remove the bottom rack by sliding it all the way out of the unit.
3. Turn the spray arm counterclockwise to reveal the two retaining clips holding the arm in place.
4. Press the clips in with your fingers to loosen the spray arm and lift the spray arm to remove it from the dishwasher.
5. Remove the screws from the clip pieces using a screwdriver and lift the pieces out of the dishwasher.
6. Place the new clip pieces into the same position and reinsert the screws into the clips.
7. Place the spray arm back into the bottom center of the dishwasher and turn the spray arm clockwise to lock it into place.
8. Slide the bottom rack into the dishwasher and close the door. Turn the electrical power back on from the circuit breaker.
