Remove any mold buildup from your front-load washer to ensure clean-smelling laundry.
Because of their airtight construction, front-load washers are more prone to the development of mold. As a result, your laundry may come out with a musty smell. It's important to do some regular cleaning maintenance on your front-load washer to ensure your laundry comes out clean and smelling fresh, as it was meant to be.
Instructions
1. Mix a couple drops of liquid dishwashing detergent with some warm water in a bucket. Dip a rag in the soapy water, wring it out and thoroughly clean the rubber gasket around the door.
2. Clean the detergent dispenser with the rag. If it is removable, take it out to clean it. If not, clean it as best you can inside the washer.
3. Run a cycle with the hot water setting. Add 1 cup of bleach to the wash tub. If any mold or a musty smell remains, run another cycle, this time adding 1 cup of baking soda, which should alleviate the problem.
