Clean your Jacuzzi water jet pipes with dishwasher detergent tablets.
A Jacuzzi functions by use of jet pipes, which are part of the interior construction of the tub. After filling up the tub, turning on the jets sucks in and pushes out water, giving you the massaging effect that your Jacuzzi is known for. The problem is that you cannot see these jet pipes, so it is difficult to determine when the jets need cleaned, let alone finding a functional way to get inside and clean the jets out.
Instructions
1. Fill up the Jacuzzi with hot water. Turn off the water when all jet pipe openings are submerged.
2. Drop two dishwasher detergent tablets into the water, or use 4 tbsp. of dishwasher detergent powder if you prefer. The key is to use dishwasher detergent instead of dish soap, as the detergent does not create the bubbles present with dish soap.
3. Pour 1/2 cup of disinfectant into the water. Use chlorine bleach if you want a chemically-based disinfectant, or substitute either oxygen bleach or white vinegar. All work well as disinfectant agents.
4. Turn the Jacuzzi jets on high and let them run for 15 minutes.
5. Turn off the jets and drain the tub. Fill the tub again with hot water, remembering to submerge all jet pipe openings under the water. Turn the jets on another 15 minutes, let them run and drain the tub when finished. This cleaning cycle cleans not only the water jet pipes but also the exterior frame of the tub.
