Thermador offers six different 48-inch side-by-side refrigerators. The differences between the models include the freezer capacity, internal versus external ice makers and water dispenser options. Thermador was founded in 1916 and started designing kitchen appliances in the 1930s. Since the introduction of their first appliance, the company has received 24 awards for design and technological innovation.
Dimensions
With a height of 83.375 inches, a width of 48.25 inches and a depth of 25.375 inches with the door attached, these refrigerators have specific space requirements to ensure a proper fit. If the leveling legs need to be fully extended to balance the appliance, an additional 1.125 inches of space needs to be added to the height.
Capacity and Weight
The 48-inch Thermador refrigerators provide a total capacity of 29.2 to 29.6 cubic feet. The freezer portion offers 10.4 to 10.8 cubic feet of space with the refrigerator portion offering 18.8 cubic feet. The appliance weighs 656 pounds.
Interior
The interior features four glass shelves and four adjustable door bins. A clear deli drawer, wine bottle holder, a deli center and two humidity-controlled crispers complete the interior of the refrigerator section. Equipped with an automatic defrosting feature, the freezer section includes two wire shelves and two baskets. Select models also include an interior ice maker.
Exterior
All Thermador 48-inch refrigerators are made of stainless steel, although custom front and side panels are offered. Select models also feature an exterior ice and water dispenser.
Electrical
A three-prong 120-volt power cord provides energy through a 115-volt or 6.9 amp electrical service. With an ice and water dispenser, the refrigerator uses 657 kilowatts of energy per hour and approximately 580 kilowatts of energy without the dispenser.
