The Hearthware Flavor Ware Oven, or Nuwave Oven, is a counter-top cooker that utilizes conduction, infrared and convection technology to cook food faster. According to distributor CSN Stores, this method completes the job 50 percent faster and uses 85 percent less energy then a conventional stove. The cooker relies on a combination of heating styles to cook food on the inside and outside at the same time. Features of the Hearthware Flavor Ware Oven include power level settings and automatic shut-off.
Instructions
Set Up
1. Wash the clear cooking dome, liner pan, base pan and rack in your dishwasher prior to first use. This would be all the components except the heating module that sits on top of the dome. To remove the module, grasp it from both sides and turn counterclockwise and lift upward. You can identify the module by the digital display and buttons on the face.
2. Place the base pan on the counter. This is the bottom pan with the Flavor Ware logo on the front.
3. Set the black liner pan inside the base pan and the rack inside the liner pan. The dome goes on top and fits over the rack and liner. It secures in the recessed edge around the base pan.
4. Insert the control module into the hole on the top of the dome with the buttons facing the right. Turn the module clockwise to lock the unit in place.
5. Lay the dome holder on the right side of the unit, just under the base pan handle, and insert the tabs on the holder at an angle into the slots under the handle. Push the holder down until it rests horizontally on the counter. The dome holder is a clamp like device. If you open the dome, it rests on the holder to prevent scorching the counter-top.
Cooking
6. Grasp the handles on the control module and lift the dome off the cooker or tip it to the right and let it rest on the holder. Place the food inside the unit on the rack and reseat the dome.
7. Press the "Cook Time" button on the control module interface. The LED screen should flash "MIN." Use the number pad to enter the number of hours and minutes you need. For example, press 130 for 1 hour and 30 minutes. If the cook time is under 1 hour, just enter the minutes, 30.
8. Hit the "Power" button to enter the power setting. Choices are 1 to 9 and the default is high. When you push the power button "Hi" will show in the display. Press a number button to override the default setting.
9. Place your finger on the "Start" button and press down when you are ready to begin cooking. You may pause at any point if you wish to check the food using the "Pause/Clear" button. Hit enter to restart the cooker. Press "Pause/Clear" twice to manually shut off the oven. Otherwise it will shut off automatically with the timer.
Clean Up
10. Disassemble the unit reversing the steps you took to put it together. The components will be hot. Handle them with care and wear oven mittens to protect your skin.
11. Place all parts except the control module into the dishwater.
12. Wipe the surface of the module down with a damp cloth.
13. Flip the module over to expose the grid on the bottom. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws holding the grid in place. Turn the grid to unseat it. Wipe the grid on both sides with a damp cloth and reinstall.
