Troubleshoot A Maytag Dishwasher Mdb3000

The amount of detergent should be adjusted if the home has hard or soft water.

The Maytag MDB3000 is a 24-inch built-in dishwasher designed for daily use. If problems arise with this dishwasher, performing troubleshooting steps will help identify possible causes of the issue. Once the source of a problem has been determined, the problem can be resolved in many cases by completing the troubleshooting process. The MDB3000 has certain features that must be properly set to ensure that the dishwasher functions correctly.

Instructions

1. Use the "Rinse and Hold" feature if dirty dishes held in the dishwasher before washing are causing an odor. Press the "Rinse & Hold" cycle button. Start the dishwasher.

2. Select the "Temp Sense" option if food particles remain on the dishes after running a cycle. This will have the dishwasher heat the water to the proper temperature.

3. Use less detergent if the home has soft water. Too much detergent can cause the dishwasher to produce too many suds that might leak from the dishwasher. If the home has hard water, more detergent might be necessary. Maytag recommends using about three teaspoons of detergent for soft water, four to nine teaspoons for medium water, and 10 to 12 teaspoons for hard water.

4. Move items so that the wash arms and center tower can move freely if dishes are not getting clean. If the arms and tower are obstructed, some areas of the dishwasher will not be properly cleaned.

5. Use a rinse aid if glasses come out cloudy or spotted. Add the rinse aid to the rinse aid dispenser near the detergent cups in the door. Turn the cap counterclockwise to open and clockwise to close.

6. Select the "Heated Dry" option if items are not properly dried. Press the "Heated Dry" button on the control panel before starting a cycle.

7. Make sure the dishwasher is not overloaded if dishware is getting chipped during a wash cycle. Do not load glasses over the tines, as this could cause them to crack.
